I love creating graphics in PowerPoint! Want to know why?
They're so incredibly easy to edit 🙂
That's why we create so many of our graphics and infographics for our products in PowerPoint.
I don't know how to use Photoshop or Gimp and I have no desire to learn. And the last thing you want to do is have to pay to outsource all that. What if you have only one tiny edit to make? Do you really want to go back and forth with a graphic designer?
In the video below, I give you a little glimpse of what a few of our graphics look like from How to Use Social Media to Build Your List. You'll also see how simple they are to edit.
Here's the overview:
Step 1: Open Your PowerPoint Graphic
You'll find that most of our infographics and social ‘sharing' images are in PowerPoint.
Step 2: Add Your Own Text
You can change the fonts and size of text too. Any text formatting option is available to you, including the fancy stuff.
Step 3: Add Your Own Images or Logo
Just go to ‘Insert' and ‘Picture' on a Windows version. Not sure about Macs.
And if you have an image, like a logo, that you want on every slides, you can do that on a master slide. Just go into ‘View' and ‘View Master'.
Step 4: Change the Colors
There's nothing complicated here other than finding the right color options in the PowerPoint menu bar. Just highlight what you want to change and play with it a bit.
Step 5: Save as PowerPoint
Don't forget this crucial step! Save your changes under a new file name so that you have the old one still.
Step 6: Save as PNG or JPG
Here's where you make your slide into an image.
Just go to File > Save As.
Then give it a name and click on the down arrow next to the file types. Pick either png or jpg to make an image.
Then you'll need to save and tell PowerPoint whether you're saving the current slide or all. If you save all, it will create a separate image file for each slide.
We also use the Smart Art feature in PowerPoint to create some graphics, and you can edit them in a similar way.
