Your email content is only as good as the subscribers who read it. Or is it?
By posting your emails to social media also, you open it up to a much larger audience. These include people who are NOT on your email list, but who SHOULD be. You just have to show them how much value you have to offer.
In most email autoresponder services, there's an option to share an email to specific social media sites before you mail out. In my case, I use Aweber and can share to Facebook and Twitter.
In the video below, I demonstrate how I share my emails automatically. This is an important task that we point out in our course on Using Social Media to Build Your List.

As you can see, this is DEFINITELY something you should be doing, and something you should be teaching to your own customers and readers.
Once your email is there on a social media site, people will be able to click through and read it online. And if your service is like Aweber, there will be a sign-up form right there on the page.
Here's the brief overview:
Step 1: Write your email
Whether you write it separately or directly into your autoresponder doesn't matter. Just get it done.
Also, if you insert an image into your email, it may show up as the ‘thumbnail' when it posts somewhere like Facebook. However, I've found it to be a little random about which image it selects.
Step 2: Save and go to ‘Next'
Those are the commands in Aweber, and I always test the email first. Your autoresponder may have different commands
Step 3: Select the Social Profiles to Share To
In Aweber, there's a drop-down box where I can pick any profiles that I've already identified in my List Settings. I usually pick my main business page and my main Twitter profile.
Step 4: Schedule and Send
If you don't have any social sites listed, you probably still need to set them up in your List Settings. Again, this will be different based on what email service you use.
As you can see, this is so incredibly simple that there's no excuses for not doing it.
