Once our new logo was finalized, we turned our attention to redesigning our website and transferring everything over to our new domain.
Our new branding would need to shine through, both in the textual and visual elements of the website.
We planned to use the colors in the logo sparks throughout the website to put a visual stamp on the branding. In addition to the orange, aqua and indigo, we added a smart, elegant gray for those areas where large splashes of the brighter colors might be visually overwhelming, such as in the footer.
The bursts of color throughout the website would reinforce our visual branding, making it easier to instantly recognize and remember our brand across the Internet, too.
As well as using our brand colors for emphasis, we used them to designate the three levels of content we offer: Flash (aqua), Beacon (indigo), Blaze (orange).
Each content level is now easy to recognize by color alone. Each has a color-coded, specially-designed icon, and each has a new, branded ebook cover and other graphics which spotlight that particular color.
Identifying each content level by color makes it much easier for anyone searching for different types of content to find it quickly and easily.
This is how our Featured products looked on our old site.
And this is how our new Featured Products looks.
It's much cleaner and easier to identify what you're looking for by budget and level.
We decided to keep the WordPress theme we were already using, but upgraded our Home page, giving it a more modern look and drawing attention to our updated marketing messages.
We used our color scheme to divide the Home page into sections, each horizontal bar taking one of our colors.
The website now pulled together our new marketing messages and visual branding and we were ready to announce our rebranding to the world. More on that in our next post.
