Meet Rachel

Rachel is an Inbound Professor at HubSpot Academy. Here, she educates HubSpot’s audience on the HubSpot software, inbound marketing, SEO, and more. Eagle-eyed Rachel quality checks all of the Content Sparks course materials. Using her superb writing skills, she ensures what you're teaching is premium training content.

What Courses Would You Pick for Your Online Course Academy?

I'm a bit biased based on my role developing online education for HubSpot, but here's what I would pick:

1. How to Create an Online Course

2. Online Course Expansion Pack

3. Launch & Market Your Online Course

4. How to Teach an Online Course

5. Teach an Online Course Expansion pack

Why Did You Choose These Courses?

I chose these particular courses because bundled together, they take you start-to-finish from creating your first online course, launching it, marketing it to your target audience, and teaching effectively.

As online education becomes more and more popular, it's difficult to stand out from the hundreds of thousands of courses available to consumers. Learning how to properly teach and market an online course and create high-quality online course content will give you a leg up on the competition.

What Online Course Platform Would You Choose?

As I'm a professor at HubSpot Academy I would definitely use HubSpot to deliver my courses. I'm familiar with the CMS and know how I can use it to showcase my courses. However, for anyone teaching outside of my organization, I’d probably recommend Teachable, since it’s accessible to the majority of people and easy to get started. There are no big tech hurdles to overcome.

What Would The Investment Be for Your Academy?

Given my background and experience, I'd ask for $297 per course in the launch phase. After launch the courses would be $497 each or $1397 for all three.

Lots of online courses are sold with bonuses to make them more attractive. I'd use the content from the expansion packs to make some juicy bonuses for my new students.

How Would You Market Your New Academy?

I would start with inbound marketing, of course. The great thing about Content Sparks courses is that the bigger packs contain marketing materials so you can get started with marketing right away. I'd spend a weekend adding my voice and adjusting the tone to fit my audience. Then, I'd publish a series of articles around creating and marketing online courses.

I know that the keyword research has been done already, so that's one less thing to worry about. I'd fully optimize my blog posts and invite people to join my email list.

Currently, I don't have the time to run a challenge, but I would nurture my leads as they come through to ensure that they're ready to create and grow an online course business.

What Tips Do You Have For Our Readers?

You will find it easier to create a curriculum around your passions and/or your experiences. At HubSpot Academy, one of our core principles is to educate with passion. When you love the materials you teach, it comes through in your voice and shows on your face. You'll also enjoy recording the materials and marketing your courses!

Thank you Rachel

We found this very inspiring! Will you choose the same courses as Rachel to build your online course curriculum, or would you add something different?
