Customers ask me regularly how they can quickly customize their content so that it’s unique to themselves and their market. No one wants to spend hours of time on customization since it defeats half the purpose of buying licensed content – saving time.
Of course, even with customization needed, you’re saving hours and hours of time on the research, designing, and structuring of your content. But sometimes you just need to get some content out the door.
With that in mind, I recorded a short video showing you the key places to start when branding your content and adapting it to your marketing. I used my training program on Referral-Based Marketing as the example.

The key customizations you’ll want to do are:
1. Title and eCover
Go to fiverr.com to get an eCover made for only $5.
2. Headers and Footers
Be sure to put your new title in the header, and your company name and url in the footer
Use the search feature in your word processing software to look for the words ‘example’, ‘e.g.’, ‘for example’, or ‘for instance’. Then replace the examples with ones that are more relevant to your market. Do this for not just your course books and reports and emails, but also in the worksheets and checklists.
Even where there aren’t examples already, you should consider adding some. For example, worksheets and templates can benefit enormously from your own filled-in examples.
4. Slide Branding
Change the ‘design’ or ‘theme’ on your slides to one that reflects your colors and branding. You can do this quickly by simply applying a plain design and adding your logo or url to the ‘master slide’ design.
5. Slide Content
Follow the same process as you did in the course book or reports, by looking for examples and replacing them with your own
6. Save as pdf
Save anything you plan to sell or share with customers/members into a pdf format, so that your users cannot edit your content. If they have editing ability, it violates your license terms.
7. Read through all content
Be sure to read through all the content you’ve purchased or plan to use. There’s no substitute for a personal review of the content to make sure everything is consistent with your brand and your market!
